Tourism and Hotel Management Program
GENERAL INFORMATION OF THE PROGRAM
This program aims to raise personnel who are equipped with knowledge and skills based on theory and practice in accordance with international tourism standarts. For this reason, the students gain the theoretical and practical knowledge and skills during the two-year education period and receive the Associate Degree Diploma.
PURPOSE OF THE PROGRAM
Considering that more than 3 million people are employed directly or indirectly in the tourism sector, The program aims to supply needs of intermediate manpower in the tourism sector. In this context, the aim of the program is to educate students who can actually work in the Food and Beverage, Front Office, Housekeeping departments of the service sector, who are candidates to assume the task of department manager if necessary, and who have necessary knowledge and skills. In addition, it aims to raise qualified intermediate staff and manager candidates who can take part in the service production processes and assist the management in line with the expectations of the tourism sector, and to prepare our students for the future by providing education at the highest standard.
EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES
Program students gain the theoretical and practical knowledge and skills during their two years of education and receive Associate Degree Diploma and and the title of Tourism Professional Staff.
Graduates receive the title of Tourism Professional Staff and have the opportunity to work in different positions provided by hotel businesses such as Hotel Manager, Front Office Manager, Food and Beverage Manager, Bar Manager, Restaurant Chef, Waiter, Reception Manager, Receptionist, Housekeeping Manager, Floor Chef, and food and beverage management. They have also opportunity to work in positions such as Restaurant Manager, Restaurant Chef, Chief Waiter, Bartender, Barmaid etc. They can work in drinking departments and can be tour manager and information officer in travel agencies. They have opportunity to work as director and sales stapersonnel in recreation enterprises, etc. They have also job opportunities in the Ministry of Tourism and in public touristic facilities.
Vertical Transfer: Those who successfully complete this program can transfer directly to Anadolu University Open Education Faculty Economics-Business undergraduate programs or to the following 4-year undergraduate programs if they are successful in the vertical transfer exam (DGS) made by ÖSYM. These programs are Hospitality Management, Hospitality Management Teaching, Hospitality and Tourism Management, Tourist Guiding, Tourism Management and Hotel Management, Tourism and Hotel Management, Tourism and Guidance, Tourism and Hotel Management, Tourism Management.
